Test Scores/VDOE Report Cards

School divisions administer standardized tests to meet state and national requirements and to assess student understanding of the curriculum. These tests are primarily administered in the spring of each school year, and test results are released the following fall.

High school students also may take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the ACT as part of their efforts to gain admission to a college or university. If a student scores high enough on an Advanced Placement (AP) test, he or she may earn college credit.

Standardized test scores determine the school division’s state accreditation and measure progress toward Annual Measurable Objectives (AMO) that are set by the state.
