The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools Department of Health Services recognizes the relationship between students’ health and their ability to learn and be successful.  Our School Health Services framework includes prevention and intervention practices that identify and attempt to alleviate risk factors and eliminate barriers that hinder student learning, school entry, and school attendance. Additionally, Health Services strengthens and facilitates the educational process by helping students seek an optimal level of physical, mental and social development; linking home, school and community; and promoting healthy activities and behaviors that lead to academic success.
