A Message from the Superintendent

I am pleased to present the 2014-15 Annual Report for Williamsburg-James City County Schools. Guided by the core values of Individualism, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Collaboration, the division’s accomplishments in 2014-15 indicate significant progress toward our goals.

With our strategic plan serving as the roadmap to our successes, I am proud to showcase just a few or our student achievements, employee accomplishments and proud moments in our schools.

10 Points of Pride

  1. WJCC is one of only 22 school divisions (of 132) that earned Full Accreditation in 2014.
  2. WJCC is one of 5 divisions in Virginia awarded a $50,000 High School Innovation Grant
  3. WJCC high school teams earned 7 State Championships in 2014-15.
  4. WJCC Superintendent, Steve Constantino, is the 2015 Region II Superintendent of the Year.
  5. TMS 6th grade students piloted a 1-1 technology program that will be expanded to all middle schools in 2015-16.
  6. The WJCC Schools Foundation formed in 2015 and will support innovative learning initiatives.
  7. The Association of School Business Officials recognized the WJCC Finance Department with a Certificate of Excellence for the 20th year in a row.
  8. 73% of all WJCC AP test takers earned a 3, 4, or 5 in 2014.
  9. The Community Action Agency named WJCC Child Nutrition Services an Outstanding Community Partner.
  10. The improved academic performance of WJCC students positively impacts property values in Williamsburg & James City County – to the tune of $28.6 million more in 2013.
