Project Update – 7/25/14

  • The replacement of the Matthew Whaley chiller reached substantial completion this week, ahead of schedule.
  • Dominion Power cut power to Toano last Saturday morning. This allowed the contractor to reinstall a new breaker in one of the main panels. We have had ongoing issues with this panel. So far, the new breaker and panel are holding with the correct settings.
  • Berkeley trailer set, waiting on inspection of footers and anchors. Site contractor needs to run power and fire alarm. We contacted Optech to set up communications.
  • Matthew Whaley trailer set. Site contractor has made power connection. Need to make sewer, water and fire alarm connections. We contacted Optech to set up communications.
  • Sprigging completed this week on LHS field.
  • Lafayette’s HVAC project is on schedule and coordination with the school is going well. Dan Barner attended the meeting and was reassured the locker rooms will be ready for football. The contractor changed the schedule to accommodate a request from the Principal to move up the occupancy of the main office. That will happen on August 1.
  • Had a progress meeting on Toano flooring Wednesday afternoon. Project is on schedule. Installation of the new floor tile should be completed by Jul 25.
  • Jamestown project on schedule. Most of the locker installation will be completed this week. The epoxy flooring will be done next week.
  • Progress meeting on the Berkeley cafeteria expansion Thursday afternoon. Project remains on schedule.
  • Progress meeting on the Rawls Byrd gym HVAC replacement Friday morning. Project is on schedule. New air handler in place. Duct work will be completed next week. Final piece of equipment to be delivered August 5.
