Bridge club students competed in a regional youth tournament at the Kingsmill DoubleTree last Saturday. Community partner, James Davis, facilitates a weekly club at eight WJCC schools to teach students how to strategically play the game of bridge. The tournament provided the students the opportunity to compete against not only their peers throughout the school division but also students from Landstown in Virginia Beach. Research supports that bridge helps students develop skills in areas such as math, critical thinking, socialization, and teamwork, to name a few.
