Parents and students joined BikeWalk Williamsburg and James City County Police Department officers and volunteers for Safe Routes to School Bike Rodeos at two locations recently. A rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists, avoid typical crashes and understand the rules for safe bicycling.

Safe Routes to School has been active in Virginia since 2007 and helps schools and communities across the state make walking and biking to school a safe, convenient, natural activity.
