WJCC Schools excel at Virginia Theatre Association

Congratulations to Williamsburg James City County Schools for their outstanding showing at Virginia Theatre Association’s High School and Middle School Festivals October 25-29, 2017. Over 60 High Schools and 9 Middle Schools participated from all areas of the state. Awards to WJCC schools are as follows:

High School

  • Jamestown – 2nd Place Overall – Immersed written and directed by J. Harvey Stone. Jamestown will represent Virginia at the annual Southeastern Theatre Conference in Alabama in March. Additional Awards: Technical Merit, Outstanding Vocal Performance, and Best Presentation of an Original Play.
  • Lafayette – 3rd Place Overall- These Shining Lives directed by Suzan McCorry. Additional Awards: Technical Merit and Costume Merit
  • Warhill – Honorable Mention – Mother Hicks directed by Christina Marshburn

Middle School

  • Berkeley – Top 3 Award, 1st Place Overall – Gold Award – The 11th directed by Linda Gallant.
  • Lois Hornsby – Top 3 Award, 3rd Place Overall – Gold Award – The Internet is Distract…Oh Look a Kitten directed by Matt Sanderson
