WJCC Band Night took place Wednesday, Oct 17th at Wanner Stadium. Marching bands from Jamestown High School, Lafayette High School and Warhill High School all took the field in the exhibition to showcase their individual marching band shows.
The finale of the evening brought middle school band students from Berkeley Middle School, James Blair Middle School, Lois Hornsby Middle School and Toano Middle School to the field to join the high school bands for a combined performance of America the Beautiful. 5th-grade band students from elementary schools in the district joined Mathew Whaley band instructor Jordan Stehle as the evenings VIPs. “An opportunity to see all the best that the high schools bring is what keeps our younger players interested in continuing band. It gives them that motivation to become better players” said Stehle. The first WJCC Band Night took place in the fall of 2007 and has been an annual event ever since, weather permitting.
