Just in time for the winter weather, WJCC Schools will begin using text messaging to let parents and staff know about school closures, delays and other important information about school operations.
To receive text messages from the school division, families will need to “opt-in” through School Messenger, the rapid notification system used by WJCC Schools to send emergency phone calls and emails.
Wednesday, Dec. 12, parents and staff will receive a text from School Messenger asking them to confirm that they want to receive text messages from WJCC Schools.
Families who do not currently receive emergency notifications on their cell phone will need to login to VUE to add that phone number before Dec. 12. Staff can make the change in MUNIS (Employee Self Service).
Families can also sign up to receive messages at any time by texting “Yes” to 67587.
The school division will not charge a fee for families to receive text messages; however, standard data and message rates or fees may apply depending on the family’s cell phone service provider.
