At its February 19 meeting, the School Board approved the academic calendar for the upcoming 2019-20 school year. The calendar includes 180 instructional days, designated time for staff professional development, and early release days for exams and parent-teacher conferences.
Families and staff should note an adjustment to the operating schedule for March 3, 2020. On that day, schools will start two hours later than usual. This change was prompted by anticipated high voter turnout for the 2020 presidential primary. The adjustment minimizes the potential impact from an increased number of visitors to the building and traffic in school parking lots before voters go to work.
The Superintendent and School Board would like to thank the parents, employees and community members who provided input and feedback during the calendar development process.
Important dates in the 2019-20 school year:
- First Day of School – September 3

There are also early release days and student holidays throughout the school year in order to provide dedicated time for parent conferences and professional learning for staff.
