On April 11th, a Lafayette High School Economics Team with members John O’Neill, Blake Lowery, and Mitchell Digges (pictured left to right) won the Virginia State Governor’s Challenge, David Ricardo Division (Economics). The win earned them the right to participate in a match where states enter their top teams to fight for a chance to compete at the 2019 National Economics Challenge to be held in New York City in May. From this match, only the top eight teams in the nation are chosen to compete in NYC. The results of that match show the LHS team placing 15th in the nation out of 37 teams. LHS congratulates the members of the Economics Team for their dedication and perseverance in training for this competition and for placing in the top 15 schools across the nation. Go Rams!
