Saturday April 26th approximately 400 students and running club coaches participated in the D.O.G. Street 5K. Melissa Natter, special education teacher at Hornsby Middle school, coordinated 12 Assisted Athletes and numerous pushers for the event as well.
Dan Smith, Colonial National Park Superintendent, awarded Lauren Dickerson, Rho Kappa President, the George B. and Helen Hartzog Award for Outstanding Volunteer Contributions at Historic Jamestown on behalf of Rho Kappa on April 19.
On Saturday, March 22, eighty five 5th grade orchestra students from all nine elementary schools converged on Matoaka Elementary School for the 2014 Elementary Orchestra Solo Festival. These students worked hard to prepare two solos to perform for a judge. These 5th graders performed beautifully and will soon be presented with their medals. Congratulations, orchestra students!

The Matoaka PTA sponsored fall walkathon raised over $20,000 to benefit the students at Matoaka. Students walked laps around the wild west themed bus loop as western songs played and principal Andy Jacobs rode along to keep the herd moving.
Ashleigh Collins, a student at Jamestown High School, recently held a carnival for students with disabilities at Hornsby Middle School and Blayton Elementary School.
