Description
This interdisciplinary, team-taught course is designed to engage students in a thorough study of American History and the arts using project-based learning. Through the interrelationships of the humanities; fine arts; and the social, intellectual, and political history of the United States, students explore and examine topics using a thematic approach. A variety of individual and groups creative assignments will be completed with an emphasis on creative thinking, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Reflection, feedback, and revision are essential parts of this course. Students in this course will prepare to take both the Reading SOL and the Virginia & US History SOL assessments at the end of the course.
