Description

This course will provide students with the opportunity to study the history and development of the Francophone world through film.The actual study of the selected movies will expose the students to the history and techniques of French filmmaking (beginning with the Lumiere Brothers), to the culture of the Francophone world, to the historical perspective of modern French civilization, and to the language spoken by native speakers.An important component of this course is to integrate linguistic structures and vocabulary into the daily discussions and follow-up activities through both oral and written assignments and evaluations.The course is conducted solely in French.
