Music Appreciation is a non-performing introductory music course with novice students wishing to earn a fine arts credit in music.The course is designed to provide the beginning music listener basic skills to evaluate and appreciate varied forms of music.The elements of music construction such as melody, harmony, and form will be discussed followed by a study of the evolution of music from classical music traditions to modern trends and styles.The majority of the class will involve listening to recordings and live performances to develop an appreciation for all forms of music.
