Screening for Gifted Students

The Williamsburg-James City County Program for Gifted Students provides services for formally identified gifted students in grades K-12.  Screening for rising 5th grade students will begin in February.  Referrals can be made by a parent, teacher, other staff member, or self.  Referred 4th grade students will be screened for eligibility for gifted language arts, and/or mathematics, (6th grade math curriculum during 5th grade), or enrichment.  If you are interested in learning more about this program, would like to discuss your child and the assessment process, or would like to receive a referral form, please contact Kara O’Grady, Gifted Resource Teacher at

During the month of December students took part in the Hour of Code, a worldwide event that promotes coding in each and every classroom. Millions of students completed a variety of different coding activities and learned a little bit about what it takes to use coding in the real world.
