Winners from the Virginia Junior Classical League Convention

Congratulations to Mrs. Sharp’s students who competed at the Virginia Junior Classical League convention in Richmond.


Jordan McLeod took 9th place for his pencil drawing. His handmade Odysseus costume placed 2nd in the state, and Jordan’s Modern Myth placed first in the state is his age group. Way to go, Jordan!


Gracie Dry earned 9th place for her Modern Myth, and her mosaic took 7th place. The mosaics category is very tough. Gracie also took 3rd place in Storytelling.  Great job, Gracie!


Annabelle Kelley also had a great convention. Annabelle Took 6th place in Storytelling, and also won 6th place for her handmade Arachne doll. In addition, Annabelle took 5th place for her Greeting Card, and 4th place for her Costume. Annabelle also took 2nd place for her Modern Myth. Well done, Annabelle!


District Chorus participants

Eight talented students auditioned for District Chorus at Hines Middle School. Jacob Oman, Logan Sarina, Madison Pulsipher, and Sorenna Jean will move forward and attend a two-day, festival chorus event in February at Menchville High School. Congratulations to all!

Jacobi Cherry recognized for leading the Pledge of Allegiance at the Board of Supervisors Meeting

Jacobi Cherry led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Board of Supervisors Meeting held on October 27th.  Mr. Michael J. Hipple, the Board Chair presented Jacobi with a certificate and a James City County pin.
