JBB Holiday Gift Shop!

J Blaine Blayton PTA’s Holiday Gift Shop is coming!

December 14-17, 2015

Holiday Gift Shop is an opportunity for your child to shop for gifts without having Mom or Dad around! PTA offers this event as a learning experience for your children and not as a fundraiser for JBB. There will be gifts like keychains, magnets, necklaces, pens and ornaments etc.  Gifts range in price from $0.25 to $8.00.

Each child will be attending Holiday Gift Shop during their class assigned time.  Volunteers will be on hand to assist with shopping, gift wrap.

Please keep in mind the children will have a very limited amount of time to shop and they are easily overwhelmed with the atmosphere and choices. It is recommended to provide a list of 4-6 people (or less) to ensure they have an enjoyable shopping experience.

Speaking of VOLUNTEERS, if you area available to help with the Holiday Gift Shop, please send an email to jbblaytonpta@gmail.com.  The Holiday Gift Shop would not be possible without the service of our shopping helpers and gift wrappers!

We need volunteers on hand to assist shoppers, wrap gifts, and escort children to/from class.  Please consider volunteering for a morning, afternoon shift or partial shift.

Book Drive/ Book Swap

Book Drive: December 7 – 11, 2015

The JBB Reading/Writing Committee is asking families to donate gently used children’s books.  Your book donations will help support classroom libraries, book baskets, the Book Swap Program, Book Buddies, and the Summer Reading Program.  Collection baskets will be available in each classroom.

Contact Kathleen Coronado (Kathleen.Coronado@wjccschools.org) with questions about the Book Drive and Book Swap Program.

The JBB Reading/Writing Committee would like to initiate a new Book Swap program for our students.  Beginning in January, students will be given an opportunity to “bring a book, take a book” during lunch time on Fridays (11:30am – 1:30pm).  Parents will have an opportunity to assist students with their selections, organize books by reading level, and share their love of books with students.
