On October 6, our WJCC Police Officer Lilley came to talk to all of the Kindergarten classes to finish up their unit on Community Helpers. Officer Lilley will also been visiting all of the students during lunch on Tuesdays this month. It is a great opportunity for our students to build positive relationships with people in our community.
The Williamsburg-James City County Program for Gifted Students provides services for potentially gifted and identified gifted students in grades K-12. Students are continuously screened for gifted services, but the formal gifted identification process for third graders will take takes place this first and second quarters of this school year. If you are interested in learning more about this program, or would like to know if your child is a candidate for screening for gifted services, please contact Cheryl Holzschuh, the gifted resource teacher/specialist here at J. B. Blayton. She can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The screening/testing process for 4th graders begins in March.

Let’s kick off Fall with a Free Family Movie Night! On Friday, October 16th from 6-8pm, you and your family are invited to join the rest of the JBB community in the gym for a viewing of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and a good time! There will be FREE popcorn provided by Ace Peninsula Hardware and dinner available for purchase, but please feel free to bring a picnic dinner and chairs or blankets for seating.
