12/20/16 Construction Update

Work performed last week:

  • Continued footings in Areas D & C.
  • Continued preparing the building pad in Areas A & B.
  • Laid out under-slab plumbing and installed sleeves.
  • Masonry and electrical materials were delivered.

Note: Areas D & C are the single story section of the school. That includes the gym, cafeteria, kitchen, music, art, and fitness rooms. Areas A & B are the 3-story classroom sections.

12/9/16 Construction Update

Work Performed this Week:

  • Completed preparation of the building pad in music, gym, auditeria, and kitchen.
  • Began and completed asphalt demolition in the administration and classroom area.
  • Continued footings in music, gym, auditeria, and kitchen (Area D)
  • Installed a construction road around the perimeter of the building pad.
  • Mechanical and electrical sub-contractors mobilized
  • Laid out under-slab mechanical work and installed pipe sleeves across footings in music, gym, auditeria, and kitchen

12/2/16 Construction Update

Work performed this week:

  • Completed earthwork in the sediment pond.
  • Completed installation of the underground sanitary pipe.
  • Continued interior and exterior wall footings by gym area.
  • Laid out masonry foundation walls.
  • Continued demolition of asphalt within the building pad.

June 7, 2016 – 4th Middle School Update

At their June 7, 2016, Work Session an update on the JBMS project was presented to the WJCC School Board by Howard Collins, president of architectural firm Waller, Todd & Sadler, and Michael Hall, president and educational facility planner at Fanning Howey.

Mr. Collins said the project was on schedule to follow the below timeline:

Owner Review May 23 – June 6, 2016

April 19, 2016 – 4th Middle School Update

At their April 19, 2016, Regular Meeting the WJCC School Board awarded the Partial Demolition of the current James Blair building to Ritchie-Curbow in the amount of $1,106,742.00.

April 12, 2016 – 4th Middle School Update

At their April 12, 2016, Work Session the WJCC School Board discussed the Invitation to Bid for the partial demolition of the current James Blair building.

March 15, 2016 – 4th Middle School Update

At their March 15, 2016, Regular Meeting the WJCC School Board awarded Construction Management Services for James Blair Middle School to MBP in the amount of $558,300.
