Spider baseball wins big as they ground the Hornsby hawks in a rivalry game on April 24th!

Spider softball fought hard as they came up short against Hornsby Hawks.

Last regular season game is at home against New Kent, Monday the 29th, 4:30.

Drone Grant Award

Congratulations to our Grant Winners!

James Blair faculty and staff received five grants from the Williamsburg Community Foundation! Ms. Ashley Miller will purchase books for her ELL students in their own languages. Our school counseling staff, Ms. Pottle, Ms. Kuthy, and Ms. Kravitz, will be redoing the guidance office space to be a warm and welcoming environment for students. Ms. Jaclyn Miller will purchase equipment with which to grow and study plants with her science classes. Mr. Capers will purchase drones to use with the science and technology classes. Congratulations to our staff on winning these grants for their innovative ideas!

In the April 15th games, Spider baseball operated on all cylinders in the win against Page and Spider softball had a strong start but fell short to Page.

Career Classes Visit W&M, TNCC

The career classes of related arts teachers Kaleb Patterson and Kristin Bumbaugh recently took a field trip on a beautiful spring day to William and Mary and Thomas Nelson Community College to learn about their college programs.

York River State Park Ranger John Gresham visited science classes to discuss the history of the area through an examination of the fossils found here. He brought a variety of fossil specimens for students to examine.

Service Learning Project Is Collecting Markers for Recycling

Don’t throw those worn out markers in the trash! Mrs. Kendall’s AEP classes are collecting used markers as a service learning project and will ship them to the Crayola company for recycling. Collection boxes have been place in the learning hub on each floor. To learn more about the recycling program visit

Students Elect SCA Officers for 2018-2019

The entire student body listened to speeches from the candidates for president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary for the Student Council Association after an energetic campaign.
