Daily Announcements for September 15, 2015

Today is the blood drive.  Those signed up come to the auditorium during your scheduled time and be sure to bring a picture ID.  Thanks for giving the greatest of gifts, the gift of life!

Homecoming 2015– October 10th from 8:00 – 11:00 PM in the JHS courtyard.  Tickets for the dance will be on sale October 5th-9th.  Tickets will ONLY be sold during lunches. No tickets sold at the door or after school.  Date request forms are available in the main office. They must be completely filled out and returned by Oct. 9th at 9:00 am.

The German Honor Society will meet this Thursday, September 17th, at 2.30pm in room 227. This is a mandatory meeting. We will vote for our officers and set the agenda for the year.

The Chess Club will meet this Wednesday, September 16th, at 2.30pm in room 227.

Anyone interested in joining Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor society may pick up application in 225, these are due Monday 9/14.There will be a meeting for ALL members, new and old, on Wednesday, Sept 16 in 225 after school. Returning members need to fill out a renewal form by Monday 9/14.

Applications for Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society are in room 225 and are due Monday. New members will be notified on Monday via email of their acceptance, returning members still need to fill out a renewal form by Monday, forms are on the door of 225.

Students still needing to drive for Driver’s Education class need to see Mr. Miller to set up scheduled times.

Attention all freshmen:There will be a brief meeting after school today, September 15th in room 235 for any freshman students who are interested in becoming a class officer. Elections will be held later this month. Applications are available from Mrs. Tomczak in room 235.

All students who have completed Functions/Trig and have maintained a 3.0 grade pont average in all math classes taken are eligible for membership in MU Alpna Theta National Math Honor Society. Pick up an application from the bulletin board outside office 232. Applications are the membership fee are due by Friday, September 18th. See Mr. Eames or Ms. Ridley for more information.

You must purchase & display your permit by Monday, September 14th to avoid disciplinary action and loss of school sponsored event privileges. Homecoming is right around the corner, please don’t risk not being able to attend. Permits are $50 for the semester/$100 for the year.

All French Honors Society and French Club members: There will be a meeting on Friday September 18th in room 220. All members please come with your dues, and seniors please come with the payment for your chords!

On Tuesday we will discuss our shows for the year and our plans for drama club and productions. Please come to the meeting if you have any interest in theatre. Do you have an interest in multiculturalism and social inclusion?  Do you have a desire to champion and celebrate diversity here at Jamestown?  Then you need to be a part of EMERGE!  This group will hold its first meeting after school on next Thursday, September 24th in room 212.  Got questions? Attention Students, Faculty, and Staff: BayPort Credit Union is coming to you!!!  For the first time ever, Jamestown has a bank where students, faculty, and staff can open savings and checking accounts.Unlike some of our politicians, we have the opportunity to learn about checks and balances and not let our accounts go in the “red.” So stop by during 3rd block (your lunch block) to find out how to begin saving and building your credit score.  We are located in the Ticket Window across from the Guidance Office.  Our Bank Tellers, Melissa and Kayla, will get you started out on the right foot.  You don’t need any money to open an account, but you will be rewarded with goodies and opportunities for scholarships!

The Key Club and the Red Cross want your blood. If you are 16 or older sign up today during lunch and give the gift of life Tuesday, Sept. 15th. 10% of us donate and 90% of us use donations in our lifetime. Be a part of the 10%!

Fall parking permits are available for purchase now from Mrs. Deal upstairs in room 206.  The cost is $50.00 per semester for $100 for the full-year.  If you have already paid for your permit over the summer, our permits are now available with Mrs. Deal.  Fall parking permits must be obtained and displayed in your vehicle(s) for the 1st Semester-starting Monday, September 14, 2015.  Continuing to park on school grounds after this date without a permit will result in disciplinary action and denial of entry to upcoming school sponsored events.
