Food Drive

The holidays are right around the corner!  During this time of year, let us take a moment to think about the families in our community who are not fortunate enough to have meals during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Every year families struggle to provide meals to their loved ones and now is the time to help change that.  Today through November 13, bring in nonperishable food items for families in need to enjoy during the holiday season.  All items can be brought to Officer Ferriero’s Office.  The goal this year is to fill Officer Ferriero’s Cruiser with food to be delivered to the community.  Let’s come together Jamestown and Stuff the Cruiser!

Grace Mackert Unites Teams at Finish Line

The Cross Country meet featured three teams:  Jamestown, Poquoson and the host school, New Kent.  Although it was a hotly-contested match featuring some of the best runners in the state, it was the last-place finisher that stole the show.  Grace captured the hearts of all those who witnessed her remarkable finish, which was highlighted by the sight of all three teams joining her for the stretch run.  There was barely a dry eye among all of those competitors, who celebrated sportsmanship as the true victor in this cross country meet.

Great job, Grace!  We are proud of you!

Local Business Leader Talks to FBLA

Mr. Avellanet, an Entrepreneur, spoke to FBLA students today about the advantages and disadvantages of owning your own business.  He encouraged students to find a niche and something they really enjoy

before opening up their own business.  He also told them that many start-ups fail so they need to realize that there’s lots of competition out there.
