Daily Announcements for October 2nd

Yoga Club will begin on Wednesday, October 7th from 2:40-3:40 PM. In order to participate you will need to pick up a waiver and return it with a parent’s signature prior to Wednesday. See Mrs. Christensen in the choir room for waiver. All yoga club classes will take place in the choir room, room 183.

Attention all JHS girls: Come to the choir room on Wednesday, October 7th during AEP for the first Girl-Up meeting of the year! Girl-Up is a club where we can work together to raise money and awareness for girls in less developed countries. Please join us in the effort to improve their conditions and help give them opportunities that will change their lives! We hope to see you all there!

Attention any student attending the football game Friday vs. Warhill:  Student tickets will be on sale during school on Friday. The cost is $3.00 and you may purchase them in the main office. If you wait to buy a ticket at the game, the cost will be $6.00.  If you purchase a student ticket, please enter the game through the student entrance, which is the small gate located to the right of the general admission area at Wanner Stadium.

Off Season Softball Workouts will begin this week.  The workouts will begin on Tuesday, & Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15 on the softball field.  You must have a current physical in order to participate.  Please see Coach V if you have any questions.

Attention all World Language Honor Society Members:  Yearbook will be taking a picture of all Foreign Language Societies on October 12th during AEP in the courtyard.  Please mark you calendars and remember to be present.

It’s not too late, but it will be soon! Please see Mrs. Deal upstairs in room 206 to obtain your FALL parking permits. You are risking disciplinary action and loss of school sponsored event privileges like Homecoming admission by parking on JHS property without a permit.

Attention, seniors. William and Mary undergraduate students are coming to Jamestown to help you (yes, you) with any and all aspects of the college application process. Essays, interviews, scholarships, you name it! To learn more, come to the first informational meeting of the Tribe College Outreach on Tuesday, October 6th – that’s the Tuesday of Spirit Week – at 2:30 in room 113, right across from the cafeteria. Attention Seniors: If your have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better and wish to seek membership in the national Honor Society, then please see Mr. Meredith in room 238 to pick up an information packet.

Are you interested in a career in law enforcement? Do you want to see what it is like to be a Police Officer? Now is your chance. The James City County Police Department is offering its Police Explorers Program to those who are interested in the day to day duties of their local Police Department and it’s Officers. Please see your School Resource Officer, Officer Ferriero for further details and questions.

Homecoming 2015– October 10th from 8:00 – 11:00 PM in the JHS courtyard. Tickets for the dance will be on sale October 5th-9th. Tickets will ONLY be sold during lunches. No tickets sold at the door or after school. Date request forms are available in the main office. They must be completely filled out and returned by Oct. 9th at 9:00 am.

Do you like movies?  Do you like learning about new cultures?  Come to the Foreign Film Club’s first meeting on Thursday, October 8th after school in room 220 to watch our first film of the year from Poland.

The Drama Club and Thespian Honor Society will meet as scheduled on today from 2:30-3:15 in Room 182. If you are interested and available, please stop by. We will discuss a service project and plan a movie night. If you can’t make it, we’ll see you next month!
