Attention anyone interested in swimming for Jamestown this winter, please attend an informational meeting on Monday October 24th in room 216 after school.

Anyone interested in joining Key Club should have their membership application and dues turned into Ms. Hayden today.

Attention all students and staff, LAST chance to enter into the drawing for a $50 gift card, or a parking permit, at Bayport Credit Union.  If you’re already a member of Bayport, stop down to enter your name in the drawing, anytime during 3rd Block.  If you’re not already a member….well, WHY NOT?  Just open an account and you’ll be entered into the drawing.  Winners will be announced Monday, October 17

The Military ASVAB will be October 26th at 7:25am. You MUST sign up in the counseling office if you are planning on taking the test no later then Monday October 24th. Please see your counselor with any questions.

Homecoming 2016: Tickets for Homecoming will be on SALE October 10th-October 14th. Tickets are $15.00 each and are ONLY sold during lunches! NO TICKETS FOR THE DANCE WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. If you plan to bring a date from a different school you must complete a date request form. These forms are available in the main office and must be turned in to Ms. Miller by 9:00 am on October 14th.

Attention English Honor Society members! Your first mandatory meeting will be held TODAY in the library at 2:30. Attendance will be taken!

The boys and girls cross country team won a tri meet against Smithfield and York HS.  Taylor Bealle ran 16:55 and was the first runner under 17:00 for Jamestown this year.  Yesterday’s top 5 for the boys were: Taylor Bealle, Calvin Hart, Will Middlebrooks, Will Plante and Lloyd Morant.

The girls also won against Smithfield and York.  Thorin Jean broke the school record running 18:53.  The top 5 runners for the girls this week are:  Thorin Jean, Taylor Stutt, Kirsten Long, Ashlyn Grogan and Nicole Grogan.  Congrats to all Jamestown runners.  The team will race at the Milestat Invitational this Saturday.

The boys and girls are both 6 and 1 in the Bay River District Regular season.

Indoor Track conditioning will continue this week for athletes interested in sprints and pole vaulting on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:30pm for athletes who have a current sports physical.

Indoor Track will officially start on Monday, November 7th. Athletes who are interested indoor track must have current sports physical on file dated after May 1st, 2016. The first day of mandatory practice for track athletes is Monday, November 7th.

Interested in publishing your art or literary compositions in a magazine? The JHS Arts and Literary Magazine is now accepting submissions for this year’s volume.  Our theme is progression.  Incorporate your own interpretation of the theme into your artwork or writing.  We will be accepting submissions until late January.  Turn in your submissions to MR. Pritchard in room 181 or to your English teacher,  We look forward to seeing your creativity!

Congratulations to all who supported Operation Smile night at Moe’s!  We were able to raise $1500 which provided surgeries to four children and changed their lives.  Now that is something to smile about, thank for your support, Jamestown ROCKS!
