The Key Club and the Red Cross want your blood.  If you are 16 or older sign up today at lunch or see Mr. Ambler in room 215 and give the gift of life Friday, January 6th, A Day.  10% of us donate and 90% of us use donations in our lifetime.  Be a part of the 10%.

Candy cane grams are on sale during lunch through Friday for $1.00 a piece.

Attention students attending science fair in January – all forms, including media release form, are due by Thursday, December 15 in the morning.  See Mrs. Roman or Mrs. Cosby to get the media release form or if you have any questions.

Mike Rock from Nationwide Insurance discussed how students can lower their insurance premiums by earning B’s or above in their classes, not to texting and driving, liability, comprehensive, and collision insurance, and how credit scores affect insurance rates.

The Choir and Theatre programs are having a Cabaret Night in the auditorium Tuesday at 7pm. Come join us for a night of Broadway music performed by Jamestown students. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Come support the performing arts at Jamestown!

The Driver’s Ed classes are participating in a “Get It Together” challenge involving 27 other Tidewater High Schools.  This program is about raising awareness of the Virginia law and advantages of wearing a seat belt while in an automobile.  You will start to see promotions throughout the school to help raise awareness of wearing a seat belt.  Some of these promotions will include posters, pledges, sidewalk chalk, and surveys.  Look to sign the “Get It Together Challenge” pledge to always wear your seat belt. The signup sheet will be located outside the cafeteria.  In the upcoming days, listen for tips and statistics on the pros of wearing a seat belt as well as the cons of not wearing a seat belt.

Come up to the library after school today from 2:30-3:30 to make holiday cards for youth in prison.  This will count towards Key Club, NEHS and NAHS hours!  Cheer up a young adult in need.

Seniors:  Please have your college January 1 deadline applications in to your counselor by today to ensure your recommendations and transcripts are received by the deadline.

The last chance to have your picture taken (including senior portraits) is today from 8-11 in the auditorium.   Students who purchased pictures may have a retake made on Friday, December 9 from 8-11 in the auditorium.  Questions should be directed to Ms. Green in room 152

Liberation Library is sending holiday cards to all the young people in the prisons they serve.  You can be a part of it!  Come make cards to cheer up kids who are not able to spend the holidays with their families. Supplies will be provided after school in the library THIS Monday. There might be cookies!
