Major Win for JHS Theater Students and Program

Jamestown Theater students recently competed with 53 schools at the 2018 Virginia Theater Association Conferece and we were one of six schools selected to perform in the finals Sunday morning.

In the end, Jamestown placed as runner up in the state.

Special Events/Programs Awards

Lip Sync Contest Winner—Jamestown—Ben Helbert
2018 VTA “On The Stage” Scholarship—Jack Cherry
High School Play Festival, Jamestown Presents…The Happening
Best Costumes
Special Recognition for original material
Best Direction of a Play
All State cast—Jack Cherry
Best Performer Award—Ben Paulk
Best Performer Award—Ari Konkel

Because of this success, our play is an official selection of the Virginia Theatre Association to represent Virginia at the 2019 South Eastern Theatre Conference Convention, this year being held in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Only two schools from each member state are invited to participate in the SETC convention.  We were also selected to represent Virginia last year. It is a huge honor to be selected for the finals two years in a row and almost of unheard of for a Virginia school to be an SETC representative two years in a row.
