Announcements for April 18th, 2017

Attention all current sophomores and juniors!  Are you interested in being a part of O-Crew? Not even sure what’s it about but want to check it out? Then come out to the informational meeting this Thursday the 20th after school or during advisory on Monday the 24th.  Meetings will only last about 30 minutes in the auditorium.

The Junior-Senior Prom 2017 theme is A Grecian Gala.  It will be April 22nd 8:00-11:00pm at Great Wolf Lodge.  Tickets will be on Sale April 17th-21st During LUNCH ONLY! No Tickets Sold at the door, No tickets sold after school.  You must have your ticket to enter prom, otherwise you MUST bring ID

Tickets are $35.00 per person. If you plan to bring a date from another school, forms are in the main office and MUST be returned by April 21st.

Jamestown seniors, can you believe that you have only two months left of high school?  That’s right, graduation is right around the corner.  Do you want to be one of two students selected by the school to speak at graduation?  Do you have something inspiring, moving, insightful, or otherwise valuable to share with all members of the graduating class of 2017?  Pick up a graduation speaker application in the main office.  Completed applications are due back in the main office by Friday, April 28.  No late applications will be accepted.

There will be a Key Club meeting for all members Tuesday after school in Room 225.

Seniors:  Graduation is just two months away, so please join us today for ice cream during AEP in the courtyard by the cafeteria.  There will be an announcement to release you at the beginning of AEP.

This week is National Classics Week and the celebration of Rome’s 2,770th birthday.  Today, there will be a special talk given by Professor Lily Panoussi from the College of William and Mary on Harry Potter and “The Aeneid”.  The talk will be held in Room 150 after-school.

Each day this week you will hear an inspirational quote from the Romans or Greeks in the morning and a trivia question.  Today’s trivia question is : What do the 3 the Latin phrases on the dollar bill mean in English?  To win a prize, submit your answer in the Front Office or at the table outside the cafeteria before the end of school today.

The next meeting of the JCL will be on Wednesday this week after school in 150. Come along, bring a snack, and solve a locked room murder mystery!
