Announcements for September 11, 2017

The Jamestown Medical Explorers Club will have its first meeting after school on Wednesday in Room 135. Any student interested in pursuing a career in the medical field is invited to attend. Stop by to learn more about the exciting schedule of speakers and field trips planned for this fall.

The Girls Cross Country Team placed 2nd overall at the Newport News Cross Country Invitational out of 40 teams that competed. The Boys Cross Country Team placed 4th overall out of 40 teams.  85 athletes on the Cross Country team competed!

Any student interested in wrestling-there will be a meeting in the Wrestling room Thursday, September 14th after school.

The Key Club and the Red Cross want your blood.  If you are 16 or older Sign up today at lunch or see Mr. Ambler in room 215 and give the gift of life Friday, September 22, B Day.  10% of us donate and 90% of us use donations in our lifetime. Be a part of the 10%.

Anyone interested in being part of the Jamestown Theatre program should attend an interest meeting on Thursday, September 14 from 2:30-3:15 in Room 182. If you are interesting in being onstage or back stage for a show, or you just have a love of theatre, you should join us. See Mr. Stone with questions.

Current Members of the Thespian Honor Society should attend Thursdays Theatre meeting if possible and plan to stay for a quick Thespian meeting from 3:15-3:45 with Mr. Stone.

Do you like to argue? Do you follow current events?  If yes, then Jamestown’s new-for-2017 debate team wants you.  We will have a brief introductory meeting on Tuesday, Sept 12th, immediately after school in room 223 with Mr. Berry. This meeting should only last about 20 minutes. If you cannot attend but are still interested, stop by 223 for more information.

To all current members and any new members interested in being a part of the math honor society Mu Alpha Theta, we will be having a meeting on Tuesday September 12th after school in room 234. The meeting will begin at 2:30. Talk to Mr. Eames if you have any questions. New application forms can be picked up in 234 as well.

Attention Science National Honor Society Enthusiasts:  applications are due in the main office by 2:30 on Monday, September 11.  No late applications accepted.  Applications are located across from room 148.  Old and new members need to apply.

National English Honor Society Officers – we have our first meeting on Tuesday, September 12 after school in room 213.

Please see Mrs Deal upstairs in room 206 to obtain your fall parking permits.  You must purchase & display your permit by Monday, September 18th to avoid disciplinary action and loss of school sponsored events privileges.  Thank you.
