Daily Announcements for March 9, 2015

There will be a meeting for all students interested in outdoor track this Wednesday after school in the Lecture Hall.

Spring strength and conditioning will start as planned next Monday, March 9. The schedule is Monday and Wednesday mornings at 6:00 am OR Tuesday and Thursday after school.

The Football Parent/Athlete Information Night has been moved to Tuesday, March 10 at 6:00 pm in the JHS Cafeteria.

This week is pi week! Each day there will be a question involving pi. Submit your answer to the media center before the end of fourth block to enter a daily drawing to win an actual, edible pie. In addition, there will be pi day activities during lunches on Thursday.

Here’s the question for today, which can also be found on the math bulletin board on the second floor: If the radius of a circle is 5 feet, what is its circumference in feet and area in square feet? (exact or rounded to nearest hundredth)

Attention Students, Faculty & Staff:  This week during all lunch blocks, FBLA Students are collecting your spare change to help support our Pennies for Patients program.  The money collected will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in hopes of finding cures for blood cancers.

Seniors: March means that deadlines for scholarships are approaching. Many applications are posted on the board across from the cafeteria and more are available on the JHS website online. Make sure you apply online for the WJCC Community Scholarship Fund before the deadline of March 22. Last year, over $60,000 in scholarships went to seniors at Jamestown, Lafayette, and Warhill.
