Interested in swimming for JHS? There will be an informational meeting in room 225 on Tuesday, Oct 20 right after school.

There’s still time to enter the Reflections Arts contest sponsored by the Jamestown PTSA, and the deadline has been extended to Friday, Oct. 30. Entries must follow the contest theme and can include dance choreography, music composition, photography, video, writing, and visual arts (both two-dimensional and three-dimensional). Entry forms with contest information are available in the blue Reflections box in the main office, and entries should be turned in to that box as well. Don’t forget — the deadline is Oct. 30!

Attention Students:  The holidays are right around the corner.  Would you like an extra $100 to spend on those holiday gifts?  If so, all you need to do is to join our Bayport Credit Union by October 30.  By doing so, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $100 VISA Gift Card which can be used anywhere you shop. During your lunch block, stop by the Bayport Branch across from the Guidance Office

Juniors and seniors- it’s not too late to sign-up for this week’s college visits. Newly added- West Point on Friday, and still available, Lynchburg, Randolph-Macon, and the University of Chicago. Sign-up now!

The week of October 19th is a big week for college visits! The following schools will be visiting next week: On Monday, Ferrum, Longwood, and the University of Mary Washington, on Tuesday, Hampden-Sydney and Goucher College, on Thursday, the US Coast Guard Academy and George Mason University, and on Friday, Colgate University. Juniors and seniors who plan to apply to these schools or want to learn more about them, sign-up in Guidance at least one day in advance.

The Literary Magazine will hold their first meeting on Wednesday, October 21st in Room 223 right after school – please be sure to bring your creative writing piece if you have interest in being an editor.

Seniors, This Friday, Oct 16 is the deadline to order a transcript for a November 1 college deadline. Be sure to turn in all forms to the Counseling Office by Friday.

Frau Staudt is still selling shirts, all sizes for $12 throughout the month of October in support of the pink cause. All proceeds go to the VBCF Richmond.
