Daily Announcements for October 20, 2015

Attention Students:  The next FBLA meeting will be Tuesday, 10/21, tomorrow.  If you are an FBLA member, you should have rec’d your pass to the meeting from your 1st block teach today. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Stowers in Room 149 today.

The German Honor Society is meeting Today, October 20th, during AEP in room 227. Email pass has been mailed to Jamestown faculty.

Tribe College Outreach mentors will be here today to work with seniors on college applications and college essays.  They will meet after school from 2:30-3:30 in Lab 113.  Interested in attending?  See Mr Lampert in Room 113 for more information.

No Baseball practice today.

There will be a Key Club meeting today, Oct. 20th, after school in the cafeteria.  There will be snacks.

Science National Honor Society members will receive their letters this week through their 1st block teacher. If you plan on running for an officer position, all letters of intent are due by 12:30 on Friday, October 23 in the Main Office.

Please wear orange October 21st to show your support for unity against bullying at Jamestown. Key Club members will have orange ribbons to hand out in the cafeteria and huge banner paper to write positive statements about your fellow students on Wednesday.  The banners will be visible around the school the next day.

Interested in swimming for JHS? There will be an informational meeting in room 225 on Tuesday, Oct 20 right after school.

Seniors needing to have their portrait made or a picture retake will need to see Ms. Green in room 138 ASAP!

The week of October 19th is a big week for college visits! The following schools will be visiting next week: On Monday, Ferrum, Longwood, and the University of Mary Washington, on Tuesday, Hampden-Sydney and Goucher College, on Thursday, the US Coast Guard Academy and George Mason University, and on Friday, Colgate University. Juniors and seniors who plan to apply to these schools or want to learn more about them, sign-up in Guidance at least one day in advance.

The Literary Magazine will hold their first meeting on Wednesday, October 21st in Room 223 right after school – please be sure to bring your creative writing piece if you have interest in being an editor.
