Attention Senior NEHS members!! Your officer applications are due TODAY in the library by 2:30. Applications are available on the NEHS board across from office 214.

Seniors! Free Donuts! Be sure to stop outside the cafeteria on Friday between 7 – 7:15 to get a donut and your senior button celebrating 9 more months until graduation.

Take a Kaplan SAT or ACT Practice Test on Saturday, 26 September 2015 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the JHS Cafeteria. Cost is $15.00 (cash or check to JHS PTSA) Sign up information is on the JHS homepage and on fliers around school. Seating is limited — Sign up today! * A Practice test is one of the best ways to get ready for the real thing.

All students interested in Art Club or Operation Smile, please meet in Mrs. Brophy’s room on Tues. the 22nd. We are off to a new year with great ideas.

College visits are in full swing, and juniors and seniors are invited to visit with the following schools for the week of September 21st: Virginia Tech on Wednesday, Roanoke on Thursday, and Bridgewater on Friday. You must sign up in Guidance at least 1 day in advance to attend. Future Hokies, Maroons, or Eagles, don’t miss your chance to learn more about these schools!

Please see Mrs. Deal upstairs in room 206 to obtain your fall parking permits. As of Monday, you are risking disciplinary action and loss of school sponsored event privileges by parking on JHS property without a permit. Homecoming is right around the corner, keep that in mind and get your permits!

Attention Students: We will have our first FBLA meeting tomorrow Tuesday, September 22, during ELT in Room 149. If you are interested in joining FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), please come to our meeting. Be prompt. We will be discussing various trips and activities so we need everyone who is interested to please attend. If you are not able to make the meeting, stop by Room 149, 151, 136, or 138 to see one of the FBLA Advisors.

Homecoming 2015– October 10th from 8:00 – 11:00 PM in the JHS courtyard. Tickets for the dance will be on sale October 5th-9th. Tickets will ONLY be sold during lunches. No tickets sold at the door or after school. Date request forms are available in the main office. They must be completely filled out and returned by Oct. 9th at 9:00 am.

The German Honor Society will meet today, September 17th, at 2.30 pm in room 227. This is a mandatory meeting. We will vote for our officers and set the agenda for the year.

All those students interested in joining the Jamestown High School Latin Club, becoming part of the National Latin Honor Society and attending the Virginia Junior Classical League convention should attend an interest meeting after school at 2:30 on Wednesday September 23rd in Room 144

Applications for Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society are in room 225 and are due Monday. New members will be notified on Monday via email of their acceptance, returning members still need to fill out a renewal form by Monday, forms are on the door of 225.

Auditions for the Fall Play- It’s A Wonderful Life– will be on Tuesday, September the 22 afterschool. You need to sign up for an audition time on the bulletin board outside of Room 182.  No experience necessary to audition. See Mr. Stone with questions.

Current members of the Thespian Honors Society should stop by Room 182 and vote for our officers. Please vote by Friday at lunch.

Students still needing to drive for Driver’s Education class need to see Mr. Miller to set up scheduled times.

Fall workouts for baseball will be next Tuesday 6:00-7:30 pm and Sat. 26th from 9:00 – 12:00 on the baseball field at JHA.  If you have any questions, please see the Athletic Director, Mr. Edwards.

All students who have completed Functions/Trig and have maintained a 3.0 grade pont average in all math classes taken are eligible for membership in MU Alpna Theta National Math Honor Society. Pick up an application from the bulletin board outside office 232. Applications are the membership fee are due by Friday, September 18th. See Mr. Eames or Ms. Ridley for more information.

All French Honors Society and French Club members: There will be a meeting on Friday September 18th in room 220. All members please come with your dues, and seniors please come with the payment for your chords!

Do you have an interest in multiculturalism and social inclusion? Do you have a desire to champion and celebrate diversity here at Jamestown? Then you need to be a part of EMERGE!
