Class Election Information

Attention students! If you are interested in running for Sophomore, Junior, Senior or SCA office please pick up an application in the counseling office beginning this Friday, May 26th at 10:30am in the counseling office. Completed applications are due back by Thursday June 1st at 2:30pm. No late packets or incomplete packets will be accepted. If you are interested in running for the office of President or Vice President, you must have previous experience as an SCA or Class officer. IF you are considering running for SENIOR Class President- you must be able to attend the senior class graduation practice on June 16th, 2017 and be at graduation on June 17th , 2017 (no exceptions).

All deadlines, time-frames and expectations are outlined in the information packet and applications that will be available in the counseling office. Students may stop by any time AFTER 10:30am on Friday to pick up an informational packet.

JHS Team Dominion Virginia Envirothon VA State U. 5.21-22.2017

Envirothon Team Wins 2nd Place

Jamestown High School’s Envirothon Team won 2nd place overall in the Dominion (Virginia’s state-level) Envirothon Competition held on May 21 and May 22  at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia.

The Jamestown High Envirothon (Environmental Science) team placed in ALL categories.  Out of the 16 top teams in Virginia, they earned First Place in this year’s Special Topic (soil and water conservation in agriculture) and in the category of Aquatics with a second place in Forestry, Soils, and Wildlife.   The Oral Presentation of their solution to this year’s State Problem ranked fourth. 
 
These students are to be congratulated for all of their hard work, dedication and knowledge. Colonial Soil and Water Conservation District, located in Norge, supports Jamestown’s Envirothon team, as a proud contribution to their promotion of conservation education and the importance of protecting our natural resources.

Parking Applications Now Available

Parking applications for next school year are now available online or students may pick up an application in the Main office or Mrs. Deal’s Office room 206. The form can be accessed by clicking on the link following link:

You can also find the online application under the “forms” tab on the main page of the JHS website.

Parking Registration begins June 1, 2017.

Parking permits will be available for pick-up for approved students beginning August 21st, 2017
OR students may supply a self-addressed stamped envelope with their application and receive their permit by mail.

Please obtain your permit application and complete the process prior to the first day of school and avoid the Fall rush!

If you had a textbook that you were using for AP Exams, please return it to the Media Center as soon as possible.
