Jamestown’s Fine Arts night is this Thursday,  May 31, from 6-8 pm.   Enjoy artwork created by our talented students and listen to music from our award winning band, choir and orchestra.  Bring a friend or bring the whole family.

Try a great and challenging sport. All Jamestown students are invited to a Pizza and Ice Social for Cross Country on Monday, June 4th from 2:30 to 5:45!  Eat Pizza, Ice Cream, watch the Long Green Line and McFarland and learn about Cross Country!  Questions see Coach Tompkins

Humanitarian Art Project for Puerto Rico

Mrs. Furr’s Drawing class participated for the second year in Project Memory, creating and donating portraits of children who are facing hardships.  This video shows the process and the celebration of children in hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico receiving their hand drawn portraits.

WJCC IT Expert Drew Holzschuh spoke with CIS students about the IT Career Field.  He shared many great facts with students about using anti-virus software programs such as Norton or Web Root.  In addition, he cautioned them about Phishing tactics, using the Cloud, checking their Privacy Settings, and Fraud Protection at their banks.

Congratulations to the JHS Envirothon Team – State Champions!

Jamestown High School’s Envirothon team, coached by Rebecca Elton, Amanda Mullane and Charlie Dubay, competed this weekend at Ferrum College in a rigorous environmental science competition. They beat out 12 of the top teams in Virginia to claim the title of State Champions. The team, comprised of juniors Audrey Root, Anna Song, Rachel Smith, and Joanna Stathopoulos and sophomore Lisa Small, will now prepare to represent Virginia at the International Competition in Idaho this July.

May 2018 SOL Schedules

Our spring SOL Testing Season begins tomorrow, May 23rd.  During this time, we ask that our families partner with us to make sure are students are getting appropriate rest at night, as well as a proper breakfast before testing each morning.  We are very proud of the work of our students and staff this school year, and we are confident they will rise to the occasion and do very well during our window of tests.

You are reminded that we will follow the NO AEP Bell Schedule during testing.  The testing window is May 23rd – June the 1st.  First Block will start each day at 7:20.  All students are expected to be in class on time.
