Attention Students, Faculty, and Staff:  Our FBLA students (Future Business Leaders of America) are selling Virginia Diner Peanuts and College Tumblers.  If you are interested in buying, see an FBLA member or visit the catalog in the teacher’s mailroom.  Our sale will end next Friday, October 17.

It’s that time of year again! Jamestown Theatre Department and Operation Smile are teaming up to host the Night of One Acts on October 22 at 7:00 PM. Come to see all three high schools perform their competition plays. Tickets are $5 at the door, so some help support beautiful smiles.

There will be a Key Club meeting Tuesday, October 21st in the cafeteria at 2:30 pm.  All applications are due by October 31st.

Calling all seniors!  You are invited to join your student council in celebrating the second Countdown to Graduation.  Wear you Senior Red & Grab some Free Ice cream during all lunches this Friday, October 17.  8 more months.!

Attention all seniors:  The National English Honor Society is hosting an after school peer tutoring workshop on Thursday, October 16 and Wednesday, October 22, focusing on reviewing college essays. Representative from the William and Mary writing lab will be there to assist on Thursday.  We will meet in room 212.

Students…just a reminder. Please drive slowly and safely especially at dismissal.  Be courteous to other student drivers and be mindful that back by the tennis courts you need to allow for alternate merges for exiting; taking turns and being courteous to fellow students will allow for a safe and expedited departure for everyone.

10th graders–you will be taking the PSAT test on Wednesday, Oct. 15 during an extended 1st block.  Your teachers will inform you of your test location by Tuesday.  Please bring a pencil and calculator to the test.  Also go over the practice test that was given to you last week in the prep booklet.

11th graders that have registered to take the PSAT test will test in the cafeteria. You are also reminded to bring a pencil and a calculator to the test.  You will also be qualifying for the National Merit Program by taking this test.  Good luck to all.  All other students will remain in 1st block during the test.

Calling all word-smiths! Interested in writing, lyrics, rap, or poetry?  Join Poetry Club!  Our first meeting is this Wednesday 2:30 – 3:30 in room 210.  We look forward to seeing you!

There will be a Foreign Film Club meeting on today after school  in room 220.

Attention all members of Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society. There will be a 10 minute meeting after school this Thursday, October 9th at 2:30 in room 247. We will discuss tutoring and the VML dates for this year. Please be prompt!

The new Cinematography Club will meet Thursday afternoon in room 181.  Bring a camera that shoots video if you have one. The club is open to anyone interested in shooting videos.

  • Have you ever wanted to learn what goes into the making of your favorite films and TV shows or are you interested in creating your own films? Come to the first cinematography club meeting in room 181 on Thursday October 9th.
  • There will be a Foreign Film Club meeting on Wednesday, October 8th in room 220. Even if you didn’t come to the first meeting, please come and join us!
