Jamestown High School - From the Principals Desk

WEEK OF JUNE 02, 2019

A Message from the Principal

To paraphrase a character from novel and HBO series The Game of Thrones, “Summer is coming”. But summer is NOT here yet!

We have much to do before our Commencement Ceremony on June 15th. Lets make sure our final essays, projects, and tests for the year do not impact our year-long work negatively. Lets stay focused on the task at hand. Make a list of tasks that must be completed for the week. With all of the different academic, athletics, and arts activities, we could easily forget a task.

If you find yourself overwhelmed, think about specific actions that you need to take to address the MOST pressing need. Everything may SEEM important, but some tasks must take precedence over others. Get those tasks done first. Next, talk to people! If you need help with something, talk to your teacher or school counselor. You have people who are ready to help you.

Finally, when the school year ends, reflect on how your year ended. What went well? In what areas do you need more support? You start planning how you plan to address the next year over the summer.

Let’s go to work,

H.E. Townsend, IV
Principal
