To satisfy requirements to graduate from high school in WJCC and to receive a Virginia Advanced Studies Diploma, a student must complete 28 credits with 9 verified credits, grades 9 through 12. Those students who meet the state requirements will be eligible to receive the appropriate State Board of Education Seal on the diploma.

Effective with first time ninth graders in 2013-14 and beyond:
- A student must successfully complete one virtual course, which may be non-credit bearing, to graduate with a Standard or Advanced Studies Diploma.
- A student must earn a career and technical education credential that has been approved by the Virginia Board of Education to graduate with a Standard Diploma.
