Calling all food lovers who like to cook and eat.  Please join Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Channing today for our 3rd annual “Cooking Club” classes.  We will be meeting at 2:30 in room 417 and will be making a special dish that we know you will love.

  • Reading in room 311 (for Juniors only)
  • Earth Science in room 317

  • World Geography and US/VA History in room 112

Attention SENIORS, as graduation approaches, it is time to think about the words of wisdom you would like to share with your classmates, families and friends. If you are interested in speaking at this years’ graduation ceremony, please visit the LHS Home page for the link to the application or stop by Mrs. Newcomb’s office to pick one up. All applications are due by 2:20pm on Friday, May 1st. We look forward to hearing your ideas.

Congratulations to the “Egg Drop” team of Alejandro Gonzalez, Liam Hurley and Marcos Piggott.  They competed on behalf of Lafayette at the 4th Annual Newport News Shipbuilding Egg Drop Competition and earned first place by their performance in fabricating, testing and presenting the results of their “egg protection vehicle.”  This was a Tidewater/Peninsula area competition and this was our first time competing.

The PTSA is happy to announce the winner of this year’s After Prom T-shirt Logo Contest. Thank you to those who submitted an entry. They were all wonderful! Congratulations to Junior, Cameron Landis, who has won two tickets to the After Prom Event held this year at the AMF Williamsburg Bowling Lanes. You may pick up your tickets during regular ticket sales to be announced soon.
