Girls Soccer Wins Colonial Rivers Conference 25 Title!

The lady rams soccer team wins the Conference 25 soccer tournament.  The team rallied from a 0-2 deficit in the second half to win in penalty kicks for a 3-2 win.  The will play the winner of the Huguenot/ Hopewell game, on Monday June 1 at Cooley Field, start time 7pm.

On Wednesday, our girls and boys track team participate in the Regional Track & Field Championship in Culpepper, VA.  Both girls and boys won the championship…way to go Running Rams.

When someone has a blood cancer they have to go through treatment for a long time, sometimes as long as 3 years or more!  Did you know that some of the treatments for blood cancers are chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplant?  Keep up the good work bringing in those coins, together we’re making a difference in the fight for a cure!

Do you know what blood cancer is?  It is a disease that occurs in the blood.  Our blood is made up of three types of cells: red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Blood cancer crowds out the healthy blood cells so they can’t do their jobs.  Do you know what the treatments for cancer are called?  Tune in tomorrow to see if you’re correct, and keep those donations coming!

Today, our school joins almost 30,000 schools nationwide in Pennies for Patients and Pasta for Pennies presented by Olive Garden. For the next week, we will help patients with blood cancers. All you have to do is collect coins and other donations and put them in your classroom’s collection box. Remember that every penny counts.
