Love to play cards?  Join Bridge Club, no experience necessary.  Bridge offers opportunities to compete, socialize, and build skills in teamwork, math, language, concentration, reasoning, and inferential thinking.  Our first meeting is Monday, October 5th at 2:30 in room 409.  Come learn, play, and have fun.

Attention Students – Lafayette has partnered with Bayport Credit Union, open an account by Friday, October 30th for your chance to win a $100 Visa card and 1 of 4 Homecoming dance tickets.  See the Bayport kiosk located in the Upper Commons for more information.

The Latin Club induction and Pizza Party will be held on Friday, October 2nd from 2:30 – 4:00 in room 628 (across from the band room).  Bring $10 club dues to Mrs. Feingold by today to attend.  We will be discussing homecoming, t-shirt design, VJCL Convention, and more.  All current and former Latin students are invited.

Students the James-City County Police Department’s Explores Program is a law enforcement organization whose main purpose is to give young adults a chance to begin training themselves for a career in the field of Law Enforcement.  Please see our SRO – Officer McLaughlin for requirements, question and /or to sign up for the program.

Today there will be an informational meeting for all students who would like to join the LHS Debate Team.   The meeting will take place after school in the Black Box Theatre – room 623.  Please see Mrs. McCorry if you have any questions.

Are you interested in joining a service club? Do you want to make a difference in a child’s life? Lafayette High School will have its first Operation Smile club meeting on Monday, October 5th after school in the Black Box Theatre – room 623.  Please see Mrs. McCorry if you have any question.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all members of the German National Honor society today after school in room 628. If you are not able to attend this meeting, please see Mrs.  Woodrum today. All members of the German National Honor Society are required to attend.

Do you love History? Do you love Movies? Do you enjoy watching Historical Films?  Then the choice is obvious…join the History on Film Club to watch, discuss, debate, and critique the accuracies and inaccuracies of Hollywood and History! First meeting will be today at 2:30, location to be determined.

Wrestling conditioning will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 – 5:00. All students are welcome, 9th and 10th graders are strongly encouraged.  There will be a meeting Monday, October 5th in room 624 (the ACS/ ISS room) for students that are looking for more information about wrestling.  If you have questions please see Coach Wiatt in room 624.

Attention 10th, 11th & 12th graders – a representative from the local Naval Academy will be visiting Lafayette on Monday, September 28th at 1:00 in the Counseling Office.  If you would like to attend, please sign up in the blue binder located in the counseling office.
