Today is the last day to purchase prom tickets.  Tickets will be on sale during all 3 lunches, the cost is $25 each.  Prom is tomorrow at Trinkle Hall at William & Mary.  Join us for Bowties and Diamonds, there will be prizes, a fog machine, fountains, great music and lots of food.

Join the History on Film Club for popcorn and drinks on Tuesday, May 10th at 2:30 in Lecture Hall for “Kill the Messenger”, a true story of journalist Gary Webb who uncovered a CIA conspiracy who assisted the Nicaraguan Sandinistas in the 1980’s.

Seniors – please complete the Class of 2016 Senior Survey by logging onto the Lafayette High School website, look under the Quicklinks tab for “Senior Survey” and follow the instructions.  Surveys must be completed by Friday, May 20th.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Easter in the Guidance department.

Please come out and support the Freshman Class Car Wash this Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm at the C&F bank on the Longhill Rd.

It’s time to Stock the Shelves! Drop off your nonperishable donations in your 2nd block class through Friday, May 13th.  The 2nd block class with the most donations wins a free breakfast.  Let’s show our LHS pride by getting more donations then Warhill and Jamestown.

Seniors – prom King and Queen ballots will be out during all lunches today.   Please stop by the table and cast your vote for the prom court.

The LHS book club will be meeting during AEP on Friday, May 6th.  Passes will be delivered during 1st block on Friday.  Please bring your copy of “Unwind” with you.

This past week the LHS girls track team won the Bay River #2 Track Meet; the boys placed 3rd.  Congratulation to the entire team for their winning performance.

LHS Student accepted at Governor’s School for Fine Arts

Congratulations to Abigail Lynn Bannon! Abigail was just accepted to the Summer Residential Governor’s School for Fine Arts.

Yearbooks for this year have sold out!

LHS student attends All-Virginia Chorus

Congratulations to Senior Taylor Simpson! Taylor recently attended the All-Virginia Chorus Festival at the Sandler Center in Virginia Beach performing with 255 of the best choral singers from across Virginia in the SATB Choir.  Taylor is the first LHS students in recent memory who has qualified for this honor.

Last week at the prestigious Penn relays in Philadelphia, the girls’ mile relay team won 1st place in the mile relay in their section.  They received a gold plaque for LHS and each girl won a gold medal. The girls 4 by 100 team came in 3rd in their heat.  Way to go Lady Rams.
