Juniors and Seniors – the Science National Honor Society is currently accepting applications for new members for the 2016-2017 school year.  Applications are located in rooms 309, 314, and 315.   Completed applications should be returned to room 309 today at 2:30. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Beard in 309.

Spanish Honor Society members – all renewing members must pay their $5 dues to Mrs. Marzana today. 

If you love to play cards, then join the Bridge Club.  Our first meeting is Monday, Oct 3rd at 2:30 in room 409.  No experience necessary, so come learn, play and have fun.

If you like playing along with the TV show Jeopardy then please come to the first meeting of Scholastic Bowl Wednesday, Oct 5th after school in room 314.  We need experts in the fields of literature, math, science and pop culture.  If you have questions, see coach Weideman or Mrs. Crowley.

The James City County Police Explorers program is a law enforcement organization whose main purpose is to give young adults a chance to begin training themselves for a career in law enforcement/criminal justice.  If interested in joining, see officer McLaughlin for details.

The Virginia School Board Association is asking students to express their thoughts and ideas around the theme “Workforce Readiness” through their fourth annual student video contest. Students are invited to submit a 30 second video. The top 3 videos, as well as honorable mentions, will be posted on VSBA’s YouTube site, and winners will be announced at the VSBA Annual Convention opening general session. All videos must be submitted by Monday, Oct 3rd.  Contest forms are located in the main office.

Juniors and Seniors – Virginia Tech will be here on Thursday, Oct 6th. Sign up at least one day in advance in the counseling office to receive a pass to attend.

Join the History on Film Club to watch, discuss, and debate Hollywood and History.  Join us today at 2:30 pm in the Lecture Hall for “Fury”. In the spring 1945, a battle-hardened Army sergeant, leading a Sherman tank and a five-man crew, undertakes a deadly mission behind enemy lines with overwhelming odds as they move to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Ms. Hanks’ Prob-Stats class creates board games

Ms. Hanks’ Probability and Statistics students created board games using the principles they are learning in class. The games are on display in the Media Center.
