Student Parking Permits

Student Parking Permit Applications for the 2019-20 school year will be available for pickup in the main office starting Monday, August 1, 2019 or on our LHS website starting Tuesday, August 13, 2019. A completed parking permit application, along with fee and all other required documentation, should be returned to Mrs. Weaver.

FORD’S COLONY SUPPORTS LAFAYETTE HS THEATRE

Jack Wagner, Ford’s Colony Theatre Club President, presented a check for $1,250.00 to Suzan McCorry, Layfette HS Theatre Director at its recent annual Dinner meeting. This was a culmination of donations collected during last season’s Theatre Club shows in memory of Brenda Haynes and Ben Machinist, two long time members who passed away this year. Citing the importance of Art’s & Culture in our schools, both parties agreed to collaborate more in the years to come to help support our next generation of theatre participants.

Senior Pictures will take place on July 31st – August 1st at Lafayette High School in the Upper Commons.

National French Honor Society Seniors

Congratulations to the members of the French National Honor Society!  On Thursday, May 30th, seven new members were inducted and eleven seniors were sent off.

Le Grand Concours medal winners and honorable mentions.

LHS French Students Excel at the Le Grand Concours – the National French Examen

In March, LHS French students took the Le Grand Concours- the National French Examen.  Congratulations to the following students!

Leslie Diaz won a bronze metal placing in the top 15% in the nation for level 3 French.

Naima Sawaya won a silver metal placing in the top 10% in the national for level 3 French.

Sophie Freiling in level 5 French and Paola Garzon Blasco for French 3 both received Honorable Mentions.

If you have signed up for the Exceptional Games, please come to room 418 this morning at 9:00 am.  At that time, you will receive your t-shirt and your buddy’s name.  We will leave approximately 9:30 to go to Jamestown High School, and will return to LHS by 2:00 pm.

Art students – those who took Mrs. Bahl-Moore’s classes during the fall semester should stop by room 103 to pick up their artwork from the May 23rd show.

Rising 10th – 12th Grade Students! The Marching Rams are still looking to add new members to its award winning Color Guard. If you enjoy dance, and would enjoy the challenge of learning to perform with our Flag Team, then sign up at the band room to be a member of the Marching Rams!  Clinics start this tonight, from 6 – 8 PM, with Mrs. Morris.  Please see Mr. Hargis with any additional questions.

Yearbooks have arrived! We have a limited number of extra copies on sale for $80 each. They are available in room 415, on a first pay/first serve basis with cash or check made out to LHS.
