Coach Mel Jones has had an incredible impact on our school community. He served as a teacher in WJCC Schools and has coached track and field for the past 45 years.  During his time leading the indoor and outdoor track & field teams, our student athletes earned 47 District championships, 20 Regional championships, and 5 State championship titles. While his primary passion was track & field, he was also a member of our football staff throughout the years, even serving as head coach of the Rams at one time.

LABC 2018 Golf Tournament

Rams track athletes place well in state 4A championship.

This past weekend at the State meet at Roanoke College, Adam Leschinger and another athlete’s jump of over 22’ were so close that officials are still reviewing the results for 1st place.  Adam was also 4th in the hurdles.  Braden Underwood was 3rd in the pole vault.   Payton Blanding was 4th in the pole vault.

Boy Basketball 2017-18 Bay Rivers District Champs

The Lafayette Boys Basketball has earned the schools first ever district title.  It has been a 45 year drought for the team, but this year with a 18-2 record and a win over Grafton to clinch the Bay Rivers Title.  Congrats Balling Rams making the Ram Nation proud!!

Spring Sports Physicals held on Tuesday Feb.13 th @ 5 in the nurses clinic.

The Lafayette Athletic Training Department is hosting another VHSL Sports physical on Tuesday Feb.13th @ 5pm in the nurses clinic.  The physicals are for all Lafayette athletes cost is $20, checks made out to LABC.  Remember all spring athletes must have a current VHSL physical completed before being allowed to try-out for their sport.

Tonight Boy’s Basketball Game vs Poquoson has been postponed because of impending winter weather. Has been rescheduled for Monday Jan. 22 same times.
