Project Empower (PE): A Student Assistance Program (SAP) – Room #308
What is PE?
PE is a joint initiative between WJCC and the College of William and Mary. PE counselors are here to help the faculty and guidance department care for Lafayette students. We meet with students individually and in groups to equip them to succeed inside and outside of school.
Historically, it has been the aim of PE to help students with a personal history of drug or alcohol use, or who have friends or family members who use drugs or alcohol. It is important to know that PE Counselors are more than happy to see students for personal, social, family, academic, and behavior reasons as well.
How Are Students Referred to PE?
Students can be referred by faculty, staff, parents, classmates, or themselves. Additional referral slips are available on the PE office door (Room 308) or in the SAP mailbox. Please slip referrals under the door or place them in an envelope in the SAP mailbox.
NOTE: The PE counselors adhere to strict guidelines of confidentiality and do not disclose information discussed in meetings, EXCEPT harm to self or others.
