Any day that your student is not coming to school, it is important that you call the Attendance Office.  You may call at any time and leave a voice-mail message.  Call 565-4258.

However, your student must bring a note in order for the absence to be excused.  Notes must be received within 2 days of the student’s return or the absence remains unexcused.  No exceptions will be made.  Doctor notes are required for 4 or more consecutive days.

Students who are tardy must sign in at the Attendance Office, even if they arrive between classes.  In order to be excused, they must have a note or parent with them.  Car problems, oversleeping, and missing the bus are not acceptable excuses for tardiness.  Students must attend at least half their classes to be counted present for the day.

When a student has to leave school before the end of the school day due to certain situations such as medical appointments or family emergencies.  He/she should bring an early release note to the attendance office before 1st block.  It must be signed by the parent/guardian and include a telephone number.  If the student is driving or leaving with someone other than his/her parent, we will call to verify the note.  When the dismissal is not planned, the parent/guardian should come to the Attendance Office in person to request the release.   Phoned in early releases are not allowed.  We must have a note, fax, or parent pick-up.   Please note that proof of identification is required.  Students who leave without being signed out will face disciplinary action.

If you are planning to take your student out of school for a trip, you must send a written request to the Principal at least one week, and preferably two weeks, before you go.
