Would like to share your ideas about what students would like to see take shape at Lafayette? Do you like to give input on different trends happening across the world? Want to work closely with other students at your school and to have an impact, both academically and socially? If so, Dr. Nunnally is seeking students to serve on her Principal’s “RamPride” Advisory Committee. Applications are now available in the main office and during lunch, and are due by Thursday, September 21st.

Do you have an interest in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice? If so, the James City County Police Department’s Explorers Program is for you. Police Explorers is a non-paid, law enforcement organization whose main purpose is to give young adults a chance to begin training themselves for a career in criminal justice and law enforcement. If interested, see your School Resource Officer, Officer McLaughlin for further information.

Kindness Rocks

As part of the nationwide initiative to spread kindness, Lafayette 10th graders in Ms. Donahoe and Mrs. Smith’s English classes create Kindness Rocks and display them in the bus loop for students to see as they enter and exit the building.

Join Operation Smile, a service based organization that offers life changing surgeries for cleft lips and cleft palates. The first meeting is on Wednesday, September 20th, at 2:30 in the black box theatre, room 623. See Mrs. McCorry with any questions.

The first meeting of the Gaming Club will be Wednesday, September 20 at 2:30 in room 112. All are invited! There is a $5 membership fee. Please see Mr. Downs for more information.

DECA members: DECA officer applications are posted outside room 415 for those who are interested. Applications are due to Mrs. Napier by Wednesday 9/20.

National Honor Society Members – Nominations for officers are due to Madame Collins TODAY, in room 300. Also, our meeting is on Monday, September 18th, in the Lecture Hall from 2:30 – 3:30.

Juniors and Seniors: Today is the last day to sign up for Monday’s visit from the University of Mary Washington. The colleges visiting next week are Virginia Tech, George Mason University, Hampden-Sydney College, and the College of William & Mary.

Tonight’s football game vs Warhill will be a white out!  Make sure you wear white to show your support for RamNation.  Since it is an “away” game for us, tickets will be $6.00 at the gate. Also, be on the lookout for new Pep Club t-shirts coming soon!

The second preseason workout for basketball is tomorrow, Saturday, Sept 16th, from 8:30 – 10 am. Workouts are open to all students regardless of grade level. Please wear apparel appropriate for basketball.

Come support your Lady Ram Field Hockey teams as they play Warhill this evening – JV at 5:30, and Varsity at 7:00. Please bring a monetary donation and/or a non-perishable item to help the recent hurricane victims.
