Christmastime is here! Well, it will be in another 7 months. It’s time to get into the Christmas spirit, and audition for the LHS Theatre winter production, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. Auditions are June 3rd – 5th after school in the Black Box Theatre. No experience is necessary! Any questions? Please see Mrs. McCorry.

Rising 10th – 12th Grade Students! The Marching Rams are looking to add new members to its award winning Color Guard. If you enjoy dance, and would enjoy the challenge of learning to perform with our Flag Team, then sign up at the band room to be a member of the Marching Rams!  Clinics start this Wednesday night, May 22nd, from 6 – 8 PM, with Mrs. Morris.  Please see Mr. Hargis with any additional questions.

Are you interested in working as a student assistant for Lafayette athletics?  Applications are now being accepted for the athletic director’s student assistant position for next school year.  If you are interested, pick one up in Mr. Neve’s office, during lunch only.  The deadline for applying is Friday, May 24th.

The Lafayette Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring the “Cherished Angel” scholarship given annually to a deserving RAM senior student-athlete.  $500.00 will be awarded to the recipient at the senior athletic dinner in June.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. Neve’s office, during lunches only.  Completed applications are due by Friday, May 24th.

E.Shivers and O. Poller were chosen by Lafayette to represent their school at the Youth Citizenship Day on April 27, 2019, at Yorktown Settlement and had the opportunity to “practice their citizenship'”. Youth Citizenship Day is sponsored by Williamsburg Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, in partnership with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security.  The picture is of Mrs. Dougherty presenting  “Certificates of Community Service for Youth Citizenship Day.”  E. Shivers and O. Poller helped us to welcome forty-seven participants from twenty-five different countries as American Citizens. Thank you ladies!

Wouldn’t you love to wear your cap and gown for a crowd of cheering little kids?  Maybe even see some of your own elementary school teachers?  Laurel Lane Elementary plans to celebrate YOU with music and cheers!  All 2019 Grads are invited.  Please see Ms. Prokos in the main office to RSVP.

Come join RamNation for a Cure, and help fight cancer.  Relay for Life is being held at Lafayette on Friday, May 31st, from 6 pm – 12 am.  We need volunteers to help with set up, break down, the Kid Zone, and, most importantly, to walk and represent our team.  This is open to students and staff.  If you are interested, please see Ms. Prokos in the main office.
