Goal 1:

The federal annual measurable objective (FAMO) for all students taking the VA Reading SOL assessment has been 75%. Last year Rawls Byrd students met this goal with a 79 percent pass rate. By the end of the 2016-17 school year, RBES students will maintain or exceed this goal with specific attention given to the subgroups African American (Gap Group 2) and Students with Disabilities (SWD).

Strategies:

  1. Grade levels, specialists, and administration will collaborate, using data points, to tier students and incorporate interventions in reading for students performing below grade-level.
  2. Grade levels, specialists, and administration will provide “I Can” statements, essential questions, and small-group instruction daily as generated through collaborative planning meetings.
