Mrs. Sydow’s class enjoyed participating in hands-on learning projects related to their recent history unit on Native Americans! The photos show examples of the “pinch pots” that they made as a collaborative project in their art classes.
Matoaka kindergarten classes were excited to learn about fire safety – and get a great firefighter’s hat to wear home – from our local firefighters!
Matoaka students wore orange in support of national Unity Day on October 19th. Unity Day is a day to stand up against bullying and to show support and understanding for those who have been bullied. Even Mr. Jacobs got into the spirit of the day with his can’t-miss-it orange suit! Or maybe he was supposed to be the Great Pumpkin, we’re not sure, but he looked great either way!
Students also sat with new friends in the cafeteria on “Mix It Up” day so that everyone feels included at lunch!
Matoaka dads turned out in droves to join their children for a PTA sponsored breakfast and morning classroom activities. Thank you, Dads, for joining your children at school and supporting their education! If you are a Matoaka dad who couldn’t make the breakfast, there will be many more special opportunities to support your children at school this year so stay tuned!
